hab schon gewartet,w ann der erste linux desktop kommt :D

das mit den gdesklets hab ich letzt a probiert, hat aber leider net funktioniert!
er lädt mir die displays net!
dabei find will ich doch auch so schöne displays in den bildschrim integriert haben :(

Mit gdesklets kenn ich mich nicht so aus. Benutze KDE und dafür heißt die Applikation Superkaramba. Daran liegts bei Dir aber nicht, daß du versucht hat gdesklets unter KDE ans laufen zu kriegen?
Ansonsten muß ich auch noch sagen, daß das leider (zumindest bei mir) ein wenig instabil läuft. Stürzt schonmal häufiger ab und schließt sich dann ganz. Da es bei mir eigentlich nur kosmetik ist (ok - sind sinnvolle Dinge bei, kann man aber auch drauf verzichten) starte ichs dann normal nicht neu, sondern warte bis zum neustart, wo sie automatisch neu geladen werden dann. Deswegen hab ich z.B. auch keine (wenn auch wirklich sehr schöne) OSX-bar, sondern noch die Standard-KDE - dafür läufts eindeutig zu instabil ;o(

hast suse mit kde? dann kann das mit den abstürzen damit zu tun habe! ;)

ich hab fedora mit gnome 2.4! deshalb auch gdesklets!
dann muss ich andersweitig mal schaun, wie ichs zum laufe bekomme!

finds nämlich richtig cool, wenn man so sachen wie wetteranzeige, oder xmms mit in den desktop integriert hat!

ne - auch Fedora (Core 1). suse gibts nicht umsonst runterzuladen :D
Aber solange es nur superkaramba ist, was ab und zu mal abstürzt, kann ich gut damit leben. Wie gesagt - ist halt mehr Kosmetik, als alles andere.
Für richtige Funktionalität (z.B. xmms) bevorzuge ich normal schon die eigentlichen Programme. So schön wies ist - die Bediehnung ist meistens eher umständlich. Und unter Linux kann man solche sachen wie XMMS ja auch einfach auf einen der 4, 6, 8 oder wieviel Desktops auch immer legen. Platzmangel gibts da ja eigentlich nicht.

Aber hast natürlich recht: COOL ist es allemal ;o)
