Lost Motion Assembly (LMA) ist eine Federvorrichtung, die die mittlere VTEC-Schwinge vorspannt, wenn sie sich in der entriegelten Position befindet (wenn der Motor nicht im VTEC-Modus ist).
Beim frühen NSX (1991-99) ist die LMA eine Kolbenkonstruktion, die durch Motoröl geschmiert wird.
Im Laufe der Zeit führen Verunreinigungen im Öl dazu, dass sich der Kolben festsetzt und die VTEC-Kipphebel klappern, wenn der Motor nicht im VTEC-Modus ist (z. B. im Leerlauf).
Die lockere VTEC-Schwinge kann zu Schäden und lauten Klopfgeräuschen im Leerlauf führen. Dies ist ein bekanntes Problem, das bei allen NSX auftritt und das Honda im NSX 2000 behoben hat.

Der LMA-Kit ersetzt das werkseitige Kolbendesign durch das gleiche Schraubenfederdesign, das in neueren Hondas zu finden ist.
