Meet the world’s fastest import car. Yeah, you read correctly, Meet the Radical SR8, a combination of Japanese engineering and British ingenuity. The Radical SR8 is the second vehicle developed by the British motor car company. So what makes this car so special? Let’s rewind a bit, Radical's previous car, the SR3, pulled a record-breaking lap time of 7:19:098 at Nurburgring, that’s faster than any car before it. Mind you, the SR3 isn’t powered by some insanely large V-8 or V-12 motor. Power to the wide real wheels comes from a four-cylinder engine pulled from the famed GSX-R (Hayabusa). The high-revving engine is coupled with a Garrett turbocharger and makes for almost 350-hp from the forced four-cylinder.

Now Radical is back with the SR8, the next step in the Radical family of pocket-sized super cars. A naturally aspirated engine powers the SR8, the 8 comes from the new power plant a V-8 making about 500-hp. Radical took two Hayabusa motors and converted them into a 72-degree V-8 with a new transmission and differential. Weighing in at LESS than 1,300 lbs, the new SR8 is as fast as a Le Mans car. Pricing on the SR3 starts at $70,000; the SR8 will run $123,000. If you can’t afford or can’t wait for you own SR3 consider Microsoft’s Project Gotham Racing 2 on Xbox. The latest booster pack includes a playable long beat course and the sick fast SR3.
